For hundreds, perhaps even thousands of years a small granite spring on the island in the Mediterranean has been bubbling away. It sits 3,000 feet above sea level and in a beautiful and as yet unspoiled mountain hideaway. It is the source of St. Georges mineral water.
It might appear that there isn’t anything unique about a spring in the mountains of an island in the Mediterranean. But this is not just any island. It is the island of Corsica.
Corsica has a tumultuous history yet its people are remarkably resilient. In ancient times, it was invaded by the Etruscans, the Carthaginians, and the Romans. In 1943, the population revolted and succeeded in driving the invaders from the island in less than a year.
Through all of this, the Corsicans remain proud, devout, and deeply traditional. They are in a class all by themselves. And you probably don’t want to mess with them, either. How fortunate we are that the proud and enduring people of Corsica have decided to share with us this luxury water.
From its distinctive looking bottle created by world renowned French designer Philippe Starck, this water exudes good taste and high fashion. Each bottle is nothing short of a work of art and is signed by Starck on the base. The detailing of the bottle was inspired by an ancient Roman medicine bottle Starck noticed in a Corsican pharmacy and the black lid is the very essence of what Corsica represents – beauty and determination.
The bottle mirrors the purity of the water it holds.
Granite, the best of nature’s filters, adds to the water's pleasant taste and makes it delightfully light to drink. Its taste is untainted by mechanical processes and artificial ingredients.
